**SPOILERS** The Football League Cup 2010/2011 Final

lol what?

Well done Birmingham.

what game did you watch?

brum deserved that win. Never mind the injustice of the peno and red card the arsenal keeper should have gotten

Really?

Come on now, use your noggin.

Ok first of all, I'm not denying at the end of the day you need to get the ball in the back of the net. They did that twice. Fair play no arguements. It's fairly typical of Wenger's time here at Arsenal and the sides we have. Dominance, and then losing at the end. Not just games, but entire league campaigns. But:

But did we pillage them for almost all the game? Yes.
Were they against the ropes for far longer than we were. Yes.
Did Ben Foster, their keeper have a MOTM performance? Yes.
Was their goal a total fluke, against the run of play? Yes.

There's no way they deserved a winner like that right at the very death.

Of course they did, if you're defending half way up the pitch and you get caught out by a long ball it's your own fault, yeah your goalkeeper gave it to them on a plate but **** happens, they should have a had a penalty and you should have had 10 men as well remember.

Yes **** happens, but that's my point there's no way in the second half, bar them hitting the post early on did they do anything.

Had they done an Ipswich and scored from the long ball late on I'd not be annoyed about it. But thanks, and only thanks to a **** up? No way we deserved to lose like that.

If you're attacking like that in the last few minutes you should always be prepared for the counter attack, they switched off at the back.

It would have been unlucky of Birmingham lost because they had more to feel hard done by about imo.

We attacked for almost all of the second half, not just the last few minutes.

Hard done about what? We attacked and attacked and upto when they scored we had 20 shots to their 6. We'd have deserved it and it'd have just been the case that the door finally blew down.

The fact that they should have had a penalty and possibly a sending off.

It was a mistake by the linesman otherwise you would have been 2-0 down at one point.

And as said - that's neither side's doing. I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about gifting them a chance!

Btw - does your mate want that X Box? I'm about to list it on eBay otherwise.

5 - Arsenal have now lost more League Cup finals than any other team (1968, 1969, 1988, 2007, 2011). Woe.

Mentally stronger my ass!

We've lost more finals / come in second place more than any other side on the land. Wenger's own count = 4 league titles, 1 FA Cup, 2 League Cups, 1 UEFA Cup and 1 Champions League. Wonderful....

Dissect a lot of them, and plenty are teams coming back against us at the end. Brum now, Chelsea in 2007, Liverpool in 2001 etc etc.

I pointed it out on the very first page. Rather annoying...

Supporting Arsenal over the years - we've come 2nd many times. Many of them in recent years. Been disappointed after each final a lot - particularly 2006.

Any other Arsenal fan slightly apathetic about the club atm?

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasnt Arsene got money to spent but he choses not to use it ?

No - the latest accounts show that after not making a big player sell, we've barely made / not made a profit this year. It really is that tight at the club.

People calling for Wenger's head are just stupid and reactionary. But I understand their annoyance - the guy won't change on the little things. Which just so happen to **** us over time and time again.

Going back to transfers it also has to be said the risk with kids has gone sour slightly. For ever Cesc we end up with a Diaby and Denilson as well. We've also made them very rich and given them long contracts.

However the bigger picture needs to be grasped. Against 5 other sides with far bigger budgets the fact we've still gotten to 4th or better each time, and are currently 2nd is what counts the most. I'd rather get to 4th this year than get a Carling Cup.

Maybe I'm just spoilt from us getting Barca so early and already having our best game of the season only half way through. Nothing will compare to that game besides a CL final or winning the league, everything (football wise) has felt hugely underwhelming since then, so it could well be that

That's the thing, in recent years we've sadly only had one amazing game/victory a year. You could almost write the script after we beat Barca. Go back over that time and there's always one memorable match. Would rather have been holed by Barca in the middle of a competition rather than in a final. Urgh.

Barry Ferguson i think was the player who pushed Kos on the back of the head...it wasnt really nice but meh who cares really....i guess being over excited about winning the CC is something new for the Brummies:p...they havent got much to be excited about these days:p

Don't wanna sound too bitter, but if you've ever been to Birmingham this kind of holds true. Let them have that little bit of sunshine... ;)
