The problem is, these people are saying it's bad because of features not in the game that have never been mentioned. Like online multiplayer. It's like saying Half Life 2 is a bad game because you can't mod the vehicles or race against friends online.

got semi drown on the way to my local store to buy this...

i'm quite enjoying it :) am in the tribal stage, going out tonight so will have to wait ti'll i'm alive tomorrow afternoon to play again.

If people criticised the game for reasons that are actually the fault of the game then I'd understand, like my complaints about the terrain causing glitches in the gameplay.

Unfortunately people are mostly citing things that we've known all along. "It's childish and it's too simple for me", well that's not the game's fault because this was demonstrated in-depth in videos and interviews with Will Wright.
 
Ofcourse its cool to hate AoC because it is truly dire :p

I made this in Spore btw :> It looks a lot better now, tweaked the stuff a little and painted it blue.

Just got to the creature stage and i have to say i am impressed. The Sporepedia is a great little tool! A couple of things though, is it possible to have AA? Im running at 1680x1050 so it's hardly noticeable, im just picky :D Im also having trouble making my creatures body different shapes! I can bend it a little, but can't make him fatter or anything?!

LOL - I'd love to know what drove you to that conclusion. The fact that half the features aren't in the game that they've lost over half there player base because they're trying to rush the game to be out before WAR, LoTRO Addon, WOW Addon, etc or numerous other reasons certainly put it anywhere other than being the best MMO out there. In fact it wouldn't be in my top 10 MMO's.

On topic though I think Spore does have a lot of potential - it's certainly weirder than anything I've ever seen before!

Hover your mouse over the "spine" parts (the rectangle blocks in his body) and scroll with your mouse wheel. This works for everything too, not just the body.
