Spraying a 360

Heres my awesomely detailed x-clamp guide with B&Q part numbers, although im a bit late for the party!

As for painting, follow foxtrot and youll do good. I found that halfords paint gave a bit of a 'sweaty' feeling to the finish though? Kinda hard to explain. I ended up with a few variations, and found the best paint finish came from a local motorfactors mixing service.

I'm waiting to find a decent supplier of the Focus ST Electric Orange to spray my 360, as personally i think it would suit it a treat!

Looks good mate! tempted to do a wee window, but lack of experience is putting me off! :)

Only one query, with the front panel of the 360, if i want to remove the power button and sync button, its looking like they'll need prising/snapping off and then to be reglued after? :(

You wont have to remove the buttons as theyre part of the mobo/metal casing thing. The exterior case will come completely away without removing anything really.

pretty easy to do if you take your time,

halfords spray cans are your friend

sand it
big hit of plastic primer
sand some more
paint of your colour choice,
sand
paint
laquer
sand
laquer
repeat until happy

If i wanted to add a silvery sparkle to the colour, would it be worth spraying silver before the highlighted step?

I mean the actual part you press, as my removed front casing (minus memory cards slots) still has the sync button and power button w/ clear part from green rings/rrod on the front.

I found a small can of Plasti-Kote in Focus today for £3 when I popped in, so bought a chrome one, and tested it out on his DVD drive bezel straight off, just to see what kind of look it'll get, its currently in the garage drying!

Not overly sure how well Chrome Drive bay and yellow case will work hehe :) and i'm trying to think what kind of look yellow over chrome might pull through, hmm! :)

Ok, here goes, excuse the bad quality, SE K800i with flash = too bright, without, grainy as you can see!

The memory card slot covers ARE the same colour, irl! :)

Tempted to chrome a joypad, but i think that will need lacquering too, for sure, so the touching doesn't rub the paint off! :)

Wow! the colour looks crap when resized!

These DO look good irl!! :)
