Spyware/Adaware software

Is there a program out there to stop getting this stuff? My mum gets a different one every month and I have to sort it out.

You know the type - you're infected please by this and then it hijacks IE etc?

Any free prevention software or even paid I don't mind just want her to stop getting this stuff as it's annoying

The only protection I'v used for years is comodo personal firewall and AVG antivirus all free.

You do have options tho.

Options are:

Use Avast all in one (Firewall and Anti Virus)
Use Comodo Internet Security (Firewall and Anti Virus)
Use Comodo Firewall and AVG antivirus - like me

All the above is as free as a daisy.

Only reason why I like to use AVG is becuase on my gaming pc, I can just deactivate the antivirus whilst I game.

If you go down the comodo AVG route, install avg first then comodo, as AVG are cheecky and give you a message that comodo is imcompatible with avg, which is crap, becuase I'v been using for like 2 years!

Cool thanks guys. She swears she only goes to sites like QVC etc but I don't believe her, I've never known someone to get so much crap!
