Hey guys,

I just heard some weird squeaky noise coming out of one of the 5850s after playing crysis 2. I can confirm that its the card because when i increase the speed fan the noise comes back. Should i be concerned? The noise is rather loud.

It's probably the transistors on the card. Mine does it sometimes depending on the game. It's like a squeeling sound that changes pitch depending on load.

Whoever screwed in the backplate screws deserves a slap. I cannot open the damn casing. They are tiny and the 50 screw bits i have don't work!

Well folks i have managed to open the casing and while i was at it, broke the fan. That thing is jammed in. I will try to see if i can make do with what i have, in the meantime any recommendation on an aftermarket cooler?

How much space (how many slots) do you have available?

Not a lot of two slot coolers out there. For three there are quite a few.

ok my search has not found any cooler which is worth getting. the ones on ocuk ar eout of stock and else where they are expensive. Unless someone knows of one. The gelid Icy one requires 3 slots which is a bit odd. Anyway, completely un-needed expense but i think i am going to use one of my 5850s for now and then get a decent upgrade later on.
