Squeeky brakes continued.

Did you wear the pads in properly?

Try Jonnys idea of giving them death :D
If that doesnt work Id consider buying some news ones :(

Please explain how a bit of grease is going to after a pad compound that is noisy.

 eh!? Whats this got to do with Johhnies comments about copper Grease only stopping corrosion?

On a side note, copper grease wont be around a lot longer anyway as the almighty EU tries to bring in legislation to ban all things copper!

EDIT: and i think the word you were after was 'alter'...

Its not, but its unlikely he is going to have a compound that squeels!

You not heard hard compound pads then I take it? If they are cheap pads they probably will squeek a bit, give them some death to see if that helps

To be honest coppper grease is awful on brakes, it dries out and siezes up the runners. Proper brake grease is much better.

It's Jonny too, not johnny or 'johhnies' :p

I don't care tbh but the noise she makes while complaining about them is worse that the squeak from the brakes.

Always by far worse than the actual problem in hand :p

When I upgraded my brakes to the big setup they squealed a bit. Not really fussed though, the warmer weather seems to make it worse. You can but the grease behind the pads but it only stops it for a little while.

Unless there are some anti squeal brackets they forgot to put on theres not much you can do. Look at reviews for the most quiet setup for your car.

Many years ago when I worked in a garage the mechanics used to grind the edge of the pads slightly if they appeared sharp. This would cure about 99% of brake squeals. They didn't grind much just the sharp edge.

My EBC Grooved and part drilled front disk + EBC Green stuff pads don't squeek at all, and they have had a battering.

Must seem to be the luck of the draw. Mine squeaked terrible :( I did give them hell as well (track days etc)

I have the exact same problem, dont suppose you were serviced by sure car on fishponds rd were you? :p

Im guna take the fiesta in sometime and ask them whats up, its only under medium breaking do they squeek, if the pedals fully pressed they dont, its when im stopping gradualy at slow speeds they kill everyones ears.

My brakes also squeek :(

Started after the last service, but too lazy to return to the garage. :p

Hopefully getting it looked at, during the next service on Friday.

Its annoying going through towns etc at slow speeds.

Is it the fronts or rears? Only under braking? All types (hard, gentle)? Any squeal at low speed when the wheels are off-centre? From cold or when they are hot? Do the discs clean up after rain?

A mate of mine suffered from squeeling brakes from the rears when hot, off-the-throttle and with a slight turn in. Turns out the 'garage' had used 'high performance' aftermarket parts. A set of Honda pads and discs and the problem has gone.

As others have said dont use 'copper grease' it dries with heat. Take the calipers off and check the pad surface, you make have been sold cheap pads which have glazed. Clean the calipers up and apply specialist brake grease to the sliders, especially on rears. Ask an adult to help.

High performance brake setups should not squeal (unless ceramic and stone cold), if they do they have been poorly installed. A work mate has a F355 with a massive AP Racing setup for track days, even after a hard days work, silent.

it can be the type of pad used, as to why it squeals
on my old 214 the front pads would squeal every 70-80 miles after cleaning and regressing(they were halfords own)
i change them for Ferodo and the brakes never squealed again

They will be quiet when used properly, its when they are hardly used/ used very lightly that a hard compound squeels
