SSD - 300

newbie here again

so ive got a 750 samsung HDD as my main atm but want to upgrade that to a SSD and use the 750 as secondry for general use.

whats the best i can get for around £300 ?

There's a few that are decent:

100GB OCZ Vertex Limited Edition

80GB Intel X25-M G2

160GB Intel X25-M G2 - slightly over your budget, but if you require a bit more space, certainly worth it...

also having to format my 750(if i have to ?) will i lose my oc ? or is that saved to bios ?

wanting to install os and 1 or 2 games onto the SSD. then use secondry for general things i.e music films docs and install files ect..

You oc is in the bios not the hard drive.

The way I have my system is my 120Gb SSD as C with windows 7 64bit and all my games and software installed. I have used 50% of the drive and that perfect.

I then have a 2TB WD green drive as my data drive all my files, videos, work etc

Also make sure you put your windows temp folder on your 750Gb drive and other temporary files there as this will limit the number of writes on you SSD and thus increase life.

I didn't bother including the Crucial C300 due to his motherboard not having SATA6, which I reckon it needs to do it justice...
