A few times now I've had delays when accessing my SSD, I tried to open a folder earlier and it took about 10 seconds to access it.

I checked Event Viewer and found this

Then I got a popup from Windows about repair..

I ran a scan with hdsentinel

Anyone know why this is happening? I'm using USB A to USB C cable at the minute, I'm pretty sure it did this when I used the C to C cable as well.
I contacted Samsung support but I'm not sure what they will suggest.

It doesn't seem like the drive is bad but.. who knows?

I did transfer files to it from a WD MyPassport not long ago because it developed a bad block, and that was connected at the same time I got these errors, but the Event Viewer is pointing to the T9 so it can't be that.

Oh I also had this one before as well:

Wouldn't rule out its windows issue
Get similar this drive needs repairs messages
On my Samsung t7 touch every now and then
No errors on my corsair EX400U external
So does make me wonder since yours is also a Samsung
coincidence maybe but who knows

But if I boot to windows on a different hard drive then
Don't get the messages (still windows 11 but different version and build number)
The second windows 11 has the bare minimum installed
So anything doesn't work on the main drive
i can double check on second windows to rule out
it being windows or other installed software causing problems
Booting to a custom recovery environment and running
Loads of drive tools also works with no errors at all

Can you show us the SMART data from CrystalDiskInfo?

I'm no expert in what those event viewer messages mean, but my guess is it could be any of:
- Too many operations (drive not responding).
- Performed too quickly (drive sleeping or recovering).
- Cable issue.
- Old data that needs to be refreshed (this can also show up as ECC errors in the SMART data).
- Bad flash (this would show up as media errors), but I think that's less likely than the above, because it doesn't report a bad block.

One of those errors mentions it can happen if you remove the drive while it is being written to, have you done that? Do you use safely remove?

My install of Windows 11 was apparently.. April last year? That's what it says anyway, I thought it was later but I can't even remember right now. D'oh.. I've been using 10 all the time before that so I'm a bit late to 11.

I found someone else on Google who had a T7 say the same thing with theirs as well.

Too many operations, I don't think there were at the time, maybe it was sleeping? I thought I had accessed it before that happened but.. Not 100% certain.

There was a power cut yesterday in the area so possibly could have been that this time, maybe?
Yeah if I'm able to and Windows allows (isn't being screwy) I usually do safely remove before I unplug it, but of course sometimes it doesn't always work because it says something is using the drive, which could be as simple as having the This PC window open.

SMART data looks fine, no media errors and not even any error logs.
Yeah I'm not sure, the power cut might have had something to do with it. Though as I said before this has happened the odd time anyway, I'll wait and see what Samsung say about it. I'll post their response when I hear back, doesn't appear to be any major problem going on but still would like to know why it happens.. Hopefully I get a reasonable explanation rather than them just offering to replace it, we'll see.
