SSD Caching?

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Crucial M4 64GB SSD (Brilliant ssd btw). I've Been using it as a boot drive. But recently my uncle got me a Samsung 830 128GB ssd. I've heard about using an ssd as a caching drive for a main storage drive, in my case using the Crucial ssd as a caching drive for my 1TB Steam drive and having the Samsung drive as a boot up drive.

This is all quite confusing for me since I don't even know what caching is!

If it counts for anything this is my gear:

i5 2500k
Asus P8P67 EVO
Corsair Vengeance 16GB Blue
Gainward GTX 570 Phantom
XFX 850W
NZXT Phantom

If you guys could tell me what caching is and if it is possible to do it on my set-up I would be much obliged. :D

I was under the impression that the P67 chipset didn't have Intel SRT (Smart Response Technology), and that was brought in with the Z68 chipset.

So unless ASUS implemented their own SSD Caching on the P8P67 EVO (which I don't think they did, unlike on my P9X79 PRO).
