I'm still running the beta version of Win7 and will be upgrading to a retail version soon and thought I might as well get a SSD as I'm going to have to do a fresh install.

What's the best ~128Gb drive out there right now for a reasonable price (approx £200-£250)?

Ok fair enough, have they gone up in price or are these a new generation of SSD? I seem to remember they weren't that expensive when I last looked. In that case I'll just have to spend more :p

Which ones are best for around £300-£350 then :) The Intel looks a good deal as it's 160Gb and extra space is always handy!

For price id say anything that uses the indilinx controller so the crucial m225 would be your best choice.

Just got one myself and you're in luck as they've just released the latest firmware which is important btw fixes a speed issue that plagued these and other indilinx drives.

For the money they're great.

All have the indilinx controller and all have excellent performance.

Cool thanks guys, I have a good idea now. Just need to see if OCUK is better than over here for prices on these :)

I would the 160GB intel and it is excellent. Widelt regarded as one of the best if not the best performer.
