SSD Dying?

Basically my system will go unresponsive for around 30 seconds, can still move the cursor and stuff around, and then comes back. I've still to run Memtest to see if the RAM is the issue, but I get the feeling it's the SSD. It seems like it's mainly programs that are on the SSD that are locking up the system, I've got EVE running in the background and generally when the system locks up it will continue to run fine.

Is there anyway to check the SSD for errors and see if it's causing the issue? I could boot into another install and see if that works fine, but was wondering if there was another solution.

I did reinstall Windows as before the locking would cause the machine to reboot, now it comes back after a little.

Motherboard is the original P8P67 Pro, SSD is a Vertex 2 60GB.I have the latest firmware for the SSD, haven't tried changing the SATA port it uses though.

Trying to run the error scan and it either runs really quick, or isn't running at all.

Is what I get from info, anything there looking bad?

Looks like I got my answer, machine just locked up and crashed and said BOOTMGR not found and now the SSD isn't found in Windows. Had some freezes with my other HDD but not sure if that was due to the lack of free space or something else, running Memtest and then I'll check it out.

Don't think I'll be buying another OCZ SSD anytime soon, this will be my 3rd when it gets replaced.

Snap won't be buying another OCZ SSD, it's the sheer Inconvenience when it goes:mad::mad:

Is it complete failure or could it be causing the issues I'm having?

Is there an easy way to check which port a device is plugged into without opening up and looking?#

Oh wow, downloaded a verifier and it seems I'm using mainly the ports that could be effected. Time to open it up and move the connections around.

Edit: Opened it up and moved all my HDDs to the first 4 ports and stuck the useless stuff on the other 4 and now my SSD is found and hopefully everything will work again.

Cheers for the help.

The 2 white/light grey ports are the Intel SATA 3 ports so they're the best ones to use.

The 2 darker blue ports are Marvell SATA 3 ports which aren't as fast as the Intel ports.

The 4 light blue ports are the Intel SATA 2 ports which are the ones you seem to be having trouble with.

It's really time to RMA that board.

Pity you missed out on the exchange program.

If you do RMA it remember to just send the motherboard back and not any of the accessories. If you send the accessories you'll likely not get them back.

Also make sure to fit the plastic cover which protects the CPU socket pins. If they arrive damaged the RMA would likely be refused.

Just sent in the RMA, was hoping I wouldn't as it's going to be a pain taking it out and then putting a new one in. Probably just use it for a few more days and then send it back.
