SSD & Esata

I have a spare esata socket on my desktop. The other is used to connect to a NAS containing 4 x HDD's.

Is there any reason I could not use it to run an extra ssd?

It would not be a system drive as I already have an SSD for that purpose.

All of my normal sata connectors are occupied.

I am assuming there is such a thing as an esata to sata cable.

You could, and there are cables available.

Just make sure that the eSATA connection isn't linked to one of the normal SATA connectors.

No it isn't. It is one of a pair of stand alone esata sockets on the motherboard.
