SSD flicker.

Sorry for a number of threads recently, but I don't mind admitting my knowledge of drives is far poorer than video cards. I'm sure I'm not completely alone in that department.

My install of Windows 7 on to my new SSD, with the advice of others re : regedit / IDE change to ACHI, went smoothly.

The only niggle, and I guess it is nothing more than a niggle, but as soon as the desktop pic loads it stutters and flickers for a second or two. All is fine after that. Is that normal? I would prefer it not to do that, could it mean a slight hiccup with installation?

Sounds more like a display driver thing. It's possible that on your old drive this happened whilst the boot process was still ongoing and you didn't notice.

Funnily enough that you mention display driver, it took three install attempts for some unknown reason before it went through ok.
