Hello
I have a SSD for my OS and HD for my Data/program but i have a few problems.
I can't seem to get it to change the default install path to my HD. it keeps install programs to my SSD
Is there anyway of moving my programs from my SSD to my HD?

cheers

That is strange. I use one drive for the OS and essential programs, one drive for games and one drive for media. When installing programs there should always be an option to install to a location of your choice, although you may need to hit the advanced or custom button in the install dialogue.

some programs will not give you the option to change location unless you select advance which then gives you the option to change the install location and what the installer installs

From the Microsoft Website:

To change the registry, follow these steps:

1. Start Registry Editor by entering “Regedit” in the search All programs.
2. Locate the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
3. Right click on the value named ProgramFilesDir & change the default value C:\Program Files to the path you want to install all your programs in.
4. Click OK and Exit.

As far as I know to MOVE programs that are already installed is a nightmare. The best thing to do is to uninstall and reinstall once you have done the above.

I'd really advise against doing this. The whole point of the SSD is to improve performance, all you're doing by putting programs on the HDD is diminishing that benefit.

Games etc I can understand because they're huge, but everyday programs should be on the SSD.
