Hello,

Thinking of ordering the following:

C300 64GB
U3S6 controller
Samsung F3 1TB x2

I want to have the SSD as the boot drive and RAID0 the 1TB's for storage. I'm not 100% sure how to go about doing this, so please correct me if I'm wrong...

1) connect SSD and boot to windows to update its firmware (?)
2) shutdown, go to bios and set to RAID mode
3) set up RAID0 from the RAID menu for the 1TB's
4) install windows to SSD and install latest Intel RST once I'm in

Does that look right? Does it matter when I setup the RAID0? Should I install windows first with just the SSD connected and then setup the RAID0 afterwards? And what stripe size should I go for? Going to be playing games and using for music, video storage etc. Sorry for the noobie questions guys but I've never had an SSD before and have never setup a RAID before either, I've read bits and bobs, but like I say, not 100% sure

Also, does anyone think I should get an OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB instead? I still have time to decide

Thanks :)

Install Windows on the SSD before you connect the Samsungs, that'll make sure Windows doesn't go daft and put stuff where you don't want it. Make sure the SATA controller is in RAID mode first though.

Are the Samsungs empty? If not then you'll need to back up anything you want to keep, creating the RAID0 array will wipe the drives.
