SSD + HDD

I've been out the loop for a while but I was surprised to see how much SSD's have dropped in price since I last looked so I thought maybe it's time to get one. I currently have a SpinPoint F1 which I've had for around 4 years and it's served me well but some extra speed wouldn't hurt.

I'd probably get a 120GB or less SSD drive and install the OS on it along with some programs that'd benefit from the speed (games etc) with less important stuff on the HDD (most normal desktop applications) and a partition for mass storage.

However, I've heard from the past that sometimes a setup like this doesn't always have any significant benefits so I'd appreciate any advice on what I should do or if it's even worth bothering doing it this way.

SSD's are worth the cash but if you go less than 120GB don't be surprised after you install the OS + 1-3 AAA games as even with 120GB thats the entire SSD taken up already. The main benefits are the speed in which SSD's are read from makes booting Windows take little to no time whats so ever. My advice get a 60/120GB SSD for OS + main programs and find a decent HDD(or use your old one if it still works fine) and use this for storage for bigger filesized things.
