Hi everyone

I'm hoping I'm not being totally stupid, but I can't find the SSD hard drive in the PC which Overclockers kindly configured and set up for me.

Before bothering their technical support, I thought I'd ask in the forum in case any knowledgeable person might take pity on an idiot.

My set-up is:

OcUK Tech Labs Intel 12th Gen Midi Gaming PC Configurator
Lian Li Lancool 205 Midi-Tower Case - White Window
Intel Core i5-12400F 2.50GHz
Asus GeForce RTX 3060Ti Dual Mini V2 OC LHR 8GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card
WD Black SN770 1TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS100T3X0

Apologies in advance if the answer is absurdly simple.

Thank you in any case for looking at my post.

Hi Maccy

Thank you for replying. The motherboard details were:
Asus Prime Z690-P WIFI D4 - Intel Z690 LGA 1700 DDR4 ATX Motherboard
I should have thought to say that, sorry. Does it help with the precise location? There's a big chunk of metal that must be a heat sink and could conceal the SSD but I don't want to start unscrewing things until I'm pretty sure.

Best regards

You're on the right track, if you go to Asus' product page and search for the text 'Three M.2 slots' you'll see the locations. It's probably under the one with the M2 labelled heatsink if that's the primary location.

Probably under the heatsink above the gpu slot

Silly question
But since you didn't even realise its a m2 drive
Not a 2.5 sata ssd
Why do you need to access it?

Just curious
If its none of my business fair enough
If that board doesn't have screwless m2 retention
Be aware the screw holding them
Is a tiny nightmare
Need a very small screwdriver ideally a magnetic one
Or it will drop into your motherboard never to be found again
I hate those little m2 screws totally unnecessary
They made them so small
