So the DPD man will be turning up with an Samsung Evo for me this morning, can't wait to get it running tonight!
Just wanted to check my intended method is correct, so
So, I have 2 x 1tb spinners at the moment, I have moved all the data I can onto the non OS drive, including config files for my most used programs, XBMC, sickbeard, couchpotato and sabnzbd.
I have also moved the games over for steam and origin after checking guides.
So, am I right in thinking that I unplug the existing drives, and leave just the new SSD plugged in. Boot to win7 disc and fresh install.
Then install drivers from the asus disc and download latest CCC and beta drivers. Hopefully should be running sweet by this point.
Then I can power off and plug the other two drives in, make sure it doesn't boot to the old drive by accident, once in, format the old OS drive.
I can then install any programs I don't want running on the SSD, like XBMC etc on the freshly formatted HD?
Does that sound right? How is best to format the old OS drive? And what type do I format it to?
