OK just got my SSD, and thought that it would fit in where you would usually place a floopy drive, but it doesnt its even smaller. How are people mounting these in there drives, im half tempted just to stick blu-tack on all 4 corners and attach to the base of my case

you can get an adapter to fit it into a 3.5" bay, but it's perfectly acceptable just to place it at the bottom of the case - hell, i wouldn't even bother with the bluetack unless you move your pc around a lot.

Mine isn't fastened to anything. It's just sitting loose, balanced on the cables going to other drives. It's fine. SSDs, being solid, have no moving parts, so there's not much reason to fasten them other than tidiness.

Mine is screwed to the back of the motherboard tray, put an M3 screw through a spare hole. Don't know if this is possible with the 1200.

It's a 2.5" form factor, same as most laptop hard drives. Floppys and normal hard drives are 3.5".

Akasa Dual 2.5" SSD/HDD Mounting Kit

I got this but it does not line up with case had to make it fit

shame but why they just dont make the holes in them like a standard hard disk i dont know

was only £1 more then the single value and if i get another i have a place ready for it

I'm a big fan of these;

You can use them in conjunction with the Fan mount brackets they make.

Yes, that irked me quite a bit, I had two ssd's just sitting in normal trays but loose and not really a problem but for the sake of tidyness and movability(as there was enough room for them to slide out of the bays) I got the akasa dual ssd adaptor things. Why the holes in the adaptor aren't standard spacing as normal hdd's thereby ensuring compatibility with every single type of hard drive securing out there I don't know.

So now the adaptor is just sitting in one of the trays I have, but being heavier and with both ssd's screwed in its still a lot more stable but not locked in like it should be.

Someone should be shot for making such a stupidly poorly designed adaptor.

I have a laptop drive in my pc (same size as an ssd) and I just screw it into one side of the 5 1/4" bay. Works fine.

I imported a Silverstone Bay Adapter 3.25>2X2.25, from Germany as no one in UK had them in stock payed over the odd's but its well made and fit's like a glove.
