SSD Options

Bought an OCZ Vertex 60gb from here about 2.5 years ago.

Solely use it as a gaming SSD and since I've not been playing any games that were on it lately I've only just noticed. Lately my comp has been taking ages to start up, it seems the reason is that second SSD isn't showing up.

I've disconnected it and it boots up normally. It is definitely powered (and I swapped it with another one to check anyway). Connected it to another port. Swapped the cable with one of my other drives.

Still no dice. Any further suggestions? I don't have another computer to try plugging it into unfortunately.

Otherwise I guess I'm in the market for a new SSD and/or HDD

Do all your other drives show up fine I assume?

Sounds pretty dead to me, does it show up in the BIOS?

as shivy said, see if the bios can see the drive, also check disk management and see if its in there and make sure its not got a drive letter assigned which is already in use.

Hmm I did have a look in BIOS but couldn't seem to find what I was looking for. Might've been in the wrong place.

I'll plug it back in later and have a look in disk management. Was looking for that earlier but couldn't remember the name of it. Kept finding my way back to device manager.

Can't say I'm holding out much hope though. Its been working fine since I bought it and I haven't touched it lately at all.
