Just bought my new computer(https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-246-OE) and i cannot seem to get the SSD to work.

When i installed windows i got 2 drives come up, not sure if they should but neither said SSD so i just installed it to one randomly.

Now when going on 'Computer' only my DVD drive and hard drive pop up with no SSD drive shown. Apart from when i go onto the properties of the C drive - http://i.imgur.com/6YdtY.jpg

I'm not computer literate atall so after asking a friend they pointed me too: Control panel > Administrative tools > computer management > disk management. The wizard to initialize the disk should come up. If not right click on the disk > initialize.

After going there i get these 2 options when right clicking to try and install/initialize the SSD :

Has anyone got any help they could offer me in getting the SSD to be recognized as a drive?

You've installed windows to your mechanical drive. You need to have only the SSD plugged in to install windows, this is to help avoid confusion and also means that all the files are installed on the SSD, and finally to make sure that windows recognises that is is being installed on an SSD.

Alright thanks for the help, won't be able to test it until tomorrow once i get a new external HD.

Just clarifying though the SSD should come up as a separate drive once ive installed windows too it and reconnected the HD?
