SSD problems driving me mad

OK I think I'm finally getting somewhere with this SSD problem.

I need a second drive for my computer specs as follows -

AMD Phenom 2 X4 850
SSD - OCZ Agility 3 - Firmware 2.15
Gigabyte M68MT - No AHCI
Windows 7

After three attempts, I'm stuck as to what to do next.

I'm running the drive as IDE and after I am able to install all my programmes, the drive starts playing up whilst using Windows 7.

After a reboot, the computer will not boot from the SSD.

Do I .....

a) Keep trying with the OCZ - I could try RAID instead of IDE but I don't understand how to set it up.
b) Try another SSD (perhaps an M4) and try that, I've heard they are more stable.
c) Give up and get a HDD instead?

I'm a bit fed up with this all now really.

Thanks folks.

Have you connected it to the first SATA port on your board? Have you tried using a different SATA port and/or controller? (will be a different coloured port). Also check your boot priority in the BIOS.

whats the exact model name of your motherboard? i did quick search and it came back with nvidia ahci pre install drivers for win7??

I installed those already. I got a feeling I.messed up though. I followed the guide to change a msahci setting in the registry to 0. I thought that would enable ahci as I couldn't find it in the BIOS settings.

You'll still have to enable it in the bios. It should work if you set it to Raid.
