Ok, so I just ordered all of my components of my next upgrade.

Intel Core I5-3570k
Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600mhz
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
Phanteks PH-TC14PE

Samsung 830 128gb with Norton Ghost Desktop Series.

My Question is: Currently I have 2x 750gb Hard drives in Raid 0 - so 1.5 tb overall. I was thinking about switching to raid 1 as I feel 1.5tb is Way to much than I use and Raid 1 is faster. My Question is: What should I do with the SSD? Should I put SSD as IDE? or should I switch my Hard Disks from raid or something. I would just like the best possible Storage setup :)

Thanks,

nice parts!
hm why would you need to set the ssd as ide i dont understand that bit
sata ahci in one of the 6gb ports ><

I'm pretty sure running it in RAID uses AHCI. You want to use AHCI on your SSD otherwise you lose some speed.

Not all too familiar with storage setups, Always Either had 2x hardrives in raid 0/1. I'm Guessing thats the SSD in AHCI in 6gbps sata ports? So should I just set my Harddrives in Raid 1? I'm guessing when I click my computer I will see C drive as SSD and another drive for both my HDDs that can be for data storage?

Usually RAID 0 is faster for read and writes than RAID 1 which tend to offer as fast reads but slower writes.

Keep the setting for the system as RAID, as you wont be adding the SSD to the RAID. You should be able to install windows as normal but I would remove the RAID drives whilst installing the operating system.
