SSD read/write speed

hey again

i just benchmarked my ocz agility 3 SSD drive by atto as suggested by the ocuk team.and got the following results.

my max write was about 375mb a sec.and my read was about 355mb this is quite a bit lower than the read nd write speeds its suppost too be able too do. i have the firmware 2.06 installed on it.now how ever dosent it need that intel rapid storeage technology thing too work. i tried to odownload this and it says mysystem wasent combaible or something any ideas?

silly question but does your mobo support sata 3 and do you have it plugged into the relevant port?

Sounds like your SATA controller isn't in AHCI mode.
Also, update the firmware to 2.09.

yes sorry my system is the ultima tyrannasaurus on here it does support sata 3 and it is plugged there

now as for AHCI mode isent that a bios setting? its in ide atm but when i change it too the other i blue screen loading up windows

found the fm version 2.09 but wont let me update it cause its my primary drive :x

problem resolved all it took was switching the bios mode from ide too AHCI and a frsh windows install and the intel rapid storeage thing worked all by itself thank you very much lads

Yes, you could have reinstalled Winodws or there is a registry edit you can do to make it work without needing to. Changing the mode without making the edit will cause a blue screen on startup.
Anyway, if it's working now that's all good, getting better speeds now?

yeh im getting the 520 read speed but write speed is limited 388mb i havent got a clue why though

it gets too 388mb read speed in atto then dives back down too 260 and wont go higher but the read speed increases till 526mb and stays there constantly

That's a good improvement.
The write speeds can be throttled if too much is written in a short time, this is something built in to the Sandforce controller.
