SSD recommendations?

I'm looking for something to replace my ageing Crucial M225 64gb. I thought it died before but found an sole forum post on the crucial site and discovered you could reset it by leaving it powered up without the SATA connector for a few minutes. I've had to do this twice now which is rather annoying and I suspect likely to eventually lead to a non-recoverable failure so I'm looking for a replacement.

It's only used as an OS drive with all my larger data (games, music, movies etc) on other drives.

I've found 64gb to be enough but the price difference between 64gb and and 128gb is so small it's probably worth going for 128. Ideally looking at a price point of ~£75 but if there's anything a bit over that that's worth the money I'll spend more.

I don't currently have a SATA3 motherboard (Asus P6T SE) but I'm doing a full system upgrade in the very near future so it's probably worth considering.

Can anyone recommend a 64gb or 128gb drive in the £75 region?

Cheers!

I use the Samsung 840 pro here and its amazing..From what iv read the Evo is a great buy aswell..Either way an SSD is one of the best investments you can buy... I run the OS completely on it and its as fast as lightning.

My brother just bought the samsung 840 as well and its excellent.
Good read/write
Although i have the sandisk extreme which is also very good!

Think it depends where you buy from, theres a 120gb for sale here which includes it but my 256 840 Pro did not. They are pretty cheap to buy separately though!

I use a Crucial M4 for boot and Samsung 840 Pro for games. Both a great drives and I have found the newer Samsung to be a little quicker.

I used to run my M4 on SATA2 without an issue but it is just not at its max performance due to the restrictions.

I will be getting another Samsung if I run out of space.

Akasa 2.5" mounts are a cheap enough and will hold 2 SSD's so making it easier to add another into the system.
