Hey Guys,

Ok installed an OCZ Agility 3 today and its taking 50 seconds from switching my pc on into windows. I was expecting more than this, I think ive enabled ACHI in the bios and done a clean install. when I look at boot priory its says IDE next to the drive, should I worry?

what motherboard are you using? and what ports are you connected to? should be much much faster than that

i think youve only enabled the intel sata 2 ports for ahci,im just guessing but all x58 boards used marvell sata3 ports and that will be in the bios somewhere look through each page carefully and set anything that says ide to ahci then save/reboot

dont expect intel sata3 speeds with the older marvell ports but they will be quicker than the intel sata2

right now i think your running in ide mode still

ohh and you might need to do reinstall if it loops at win7 logo(thats when you change marvell ports from ide to ahci)

Equal amount of time really

Ok found the sata 6 port that was not changed to AHCI, changed that and restarted. windows then came up saying it installed devices and was missing a marvell driver... should I have had that set before the reinstall of the os?

it will be on the motherboard website,i think microsoft installs its own driver so it doesnt really matter, has it improved start ups?

you can try installing it first if it wont work you migth need to do reinstll, ive not used marvell ports so dont know

you might need to do a reinstall

or for now unplug the ssd and plug it in port 0 on the intel sata2 drive, just to test to see if its booting quick, around 10seconds it should be,then switch back to marvell and do clean install but keep both intel and marvell ports on ahci before you instal win7

Since changing to sata 2 port it's taking around 30 secs from when I push the power button though bios. Was hoping it would boot into windows before the windows logo completes itself. Not sure what else I can do really. Hear a lot of not great things about Marvell

thats about right, mine takes 23 seconds to desktop

marvell ports are fine its only in raid 0 you would get issues,it will be faster than the intel sata2 but its upto you really, you might not notice any difference in speed
