I've the 120GB Samsung 840 Series SSD with latest firmware (DXT09B0Q) and 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM HDD however the SSD write speed seems to be slower than the HDD which isn't normal?

Both drives is connected to SATA 3 6Gb/s port on my Gigabyte Z77 D3H motherboard.

have you enabled achi on the sata ports in the bios?

what version of the Samsung magician software are you running? latest version is 4.7.

its weird idk what it could be

how full is the drive and any partitions on it? tested with another sata cable and port?

There's nothing weird about this.

Looks like it's an 840 (non EVO) with old data.

Samsung haven't fixed these drives, and they suffer similar performance degradation to the EVOs.

I`ve "refreshed" a few 840s to restore their performance. 6 months later, they'll be slowing down again.

its probably that then, only way to fix it would be to clone to a spare hdd, secure erase the ssd and clone the data back to it

but it would still degrade performance wise over time
