Hi there,

Just downloaded this Toolbox thing and when i try to run it it comes up with:

"cannot run the intel ssd optimizer on raid configurations"

Now im sure that these posts have been made before but i cant find any references and googleing doesnt give me a straight answer.

I do have a 1TB HDD active on my system but at the current moment in time it is blank.

Can anyone tell me how i can disable the 1TB drive so it doesnt pick it up so i can run TRIM?
Or better yet does anyone know a way around it without having to do that?

Alternitivly do i have any other options?

Cheers!

I've had this same problem.

My solution was to dump the AMD Sata drivers I had installed, and go back to the original MSACHI ones. I doubt this was any great loss if the interweb is to be believed...

The Intel tool now works. Well, at least it has for me. ;)

But does it self defrag? I've read that if it idles it does something called garbage collection which is basically trim?
I have the Intel X25-M 80GB SSD btw

Depends on your controller and what drivers you are running. I know from experience that it is possible to TRIM these drives on a controller in RAID mode provided that the SSD itself is not part of an array, but you can run into issues on non-Intel chipsets (Nvidia, AMD, etc).
