hi guys im just about to set up my new system this weekend ! the question is like above really , should i use 2 normal hard drives in a raid 0 with windows 7 on and use my 120 gb ssd as a cache useing intel tecnology etc or just simply use my ssd with windows on ,which will be faster and more reliable.......thanks in advance

I installled MS and all my other apps onto the SSD and it runs very fast (even on Sata2)

120gb seems like a waste for a cache drive. Im looking for a 30gb ssd to use as cache drive for all my write read intensive programs might be worth you doing the same and only using a HDD for your storage.

edit: what are you hoping to achieve from your setup? and what kind of things will you be doing / using on it?

I use my SSD as my OS and main game Drive (120 gig) PC runs like a bat out of hell, my opinion
SSD: OS and one or two day to day programs
standard drive: Data.

hope this helps

You can only use a maximum of 60Gb (or maybe 64Gb) for a cache anyway which would leave the rest useable as a drive. Personally I have Windows + apps on an SSD, Games on a 1TB HD with 64Gb cache and all my data, documents and whatnot on a 2TB HD. Works well.

In your case I would just install OS, apps and main games on the SSD and leave everything else on the HD's. Raid 0 is a waste of time imo.

how would putting my os and apps on one ssd and putting my games on the second ssd fair ? ...wil it work ok putting my games on the second ssd without any problems , i dont want to merge the 2 ssds in a raid cos theres no trim ! ive got 2 crucial m4s ........thanks guys by the way
