Hi all,

Yup, don't post here much, I have to admit, but I'm after some advice/suggesting a challenge.

I've been (for my sins) chosen as a best man for a mate's wedding this spring, and of course have the onerous task of organising the stag do.

I've been rummaging around various places trying to get ideas, but of course the group of mates going along on the stag do are sticking their oars in laying down various rules.

Essentially, I'm after some unique ideas on places and events to do a Friday-Sunday stag. Ideally South somewhere.

Depends on your budget.

I saw an excellent James Bond stag do. It's basically a track day in Aston Martins then to a 'gentlemans' club where you will all be server Vodka Martinis. Picked up in whatever car you like from the series (so DB7 / DBS / etc.) cost about £200 Per Person.

Should also say I've looked at the various stag do companies, and the thought of paying over the odds for prearranged tour company style stuff doesn't really appeal too much.
 
A day of karting and paintballing followed by the biggest drinking session of your life should do, just pick a decent city and you can't fail.
 
Thanks for the suggestion Gaverick, but can I just point out the word 'unique' there? :p

Or at least, less run of the mill for a stag. First weekend long stag in what is quite a large group of mates, and I'd like it to be memorable.
 
As Gaverick said, something along that lines can be fun. The main problem you will have is getting something to meet everyones budget, some will want a cheap as chips drink-athon whereas other will want to go away to sunnier climes for the weekend. One of the best weekends i had was meet up on friday afternoon at stag location, drinking friday night, JCB driving/racing on the saturday morning, paintballing & clay pigeons in the afternoon followed by drinking and nekid ladies at night. Muchos fun though got lucky with the rooms as a friends wife worked for a hotel chain so we got B&B for £10 each per night.

If you want to have it down south, I would advise against Bournemouth, went to a stag weekend there and it was quite poor

Oh, that's a given :D

It's definately got to be in the UK, and Bournemouth has been suggested and suitably discarded, thanks Rotty :D

I'm currently thinking of Newquay, although Bristol's an option.

Cardiff is probably your best bet. Excellent place for a night out with pleanty of clubs in a small area. Coupled with hotels for everyones budget you're laughing. I believe it's now the stag / hen capital of the UK (and rightly so).

Paintballing / Clay Pigeon Shooting is close by as well.
