Stage 1 remap

It depends entirely on the car. A 1.2 NA Fiesta isn't going to change much with a remap. A Z4 with the B58 3.0 turbo will see massive gains.

Ages ago I had a stage 1 Revo remap on my mk1 Octavia vRS. Peak power didn't really go up that much but it had more torque lower down. For the money it was a nice upgrade. Second best VFM thing I did on it after a Whiteline rear ARB.

In related news it was also the only car I've ever had that needed a clutch replacement...

Good upgrade on heavy turbo diesels like vans, camper vans, motorhomes. Notice right away on the first hill you hit.

Diesel engine? If the engine and turbocharger are in good shape then go for it.

You don't need a perfectly tailored rolling road map - that's only to get those extra few percent. I assume it's a bog standard car in which case any good quality off the shelf map is going to be just fine.

Check what power your other components like gearbox are rated to.
Most will be fine, because they use the same gearbox in more powerful vehicles but not always. The power figures will be online.
