Stalker 2

I'm really struggling to finish this one, it has dragged on terribly. The amount of running just kills it for me. Can someone tell me if I'm close to finishing it?
I've just found the doctor and got the generator from the hospital.

If you don't like running everywhere just use the guides to fast travel

There are parts of the game that are so running-heavy. Especially with a limited quantity of backpack space / endurance. I kept having to go back and forth from two places at one point because I'd really messed up my inventory management.

I gave up, running/energy drink addict simulator killed it for me.

It's tricky but I kinda want some copy and paste towers scattered around the island that I can climb to the top of and then use as fast travel points. And I never thought I would miss something out of an Ubisoft game :D

I havent played this since release because of the bugs etc. Is it now a good time to start again with all the updates?

There are still game breaking bugs where key characters don't spawn for missions.
They don't affect everybody, but if you are affected it's annoying and you need to use the console to spawn them in.

I'm waiting for the next big patch, which should be soon, before continuing with the story. In the mean time I'm exploring for loot, hitting stashes and doing side quests.
It's still good fun :)

OK, thanks I've waited this long so I can wait a bit longer for the big patch

Yeah I've had several characters just not appear in cutscenes, including one main character who I assumed was hidden in the darkness of the room (for cinematic effect) and then I realised they simply weren't there.

The problem with this game is that when things don't work or don't seem right, you don't know whether it's intentional or not. For example - attachments. I have one that says it's compatible with the Saiga. Yet it won't let me attach it; there is no option. I have to Google to see that I need to upgrade the Saiga with a rail first before I can add the attachment. The game doesn't tell you that; not even a simple bit of error text. I expect the lack of polish but it doesn't make it a better game. It just makes it frustrating. I'm still enjoying it though.

I've put in around 80 hours but for some reason, I'm just not that bothered about it at the moment.

I'll also wait for some updates, maybe some mods will rejuvenate the experience for me, though that could be a lengthy wait.

Same here 150 hours in. About 60% through the story. Mostly through exploring. However im holding off like others.

I never had any noticeable problems other a few crashes, but I don’t think I’m very far through the story yet. Lving it but KCD2 has come along so I’ll leave this for a bit like many of you.

I'm coming out of a big drainage pipe. Already the white semicircle appears, showing that the AIs are aware. Nothing in sight just then. A few seconds later a squad shows up, immediately identifying me through the vegetation and possible darkness, opening fire....

I really do hope some mods come along. This feels like some AAA grade wallhack!

I went from 6800XT to 4090 and this game is unplayable even after a fresh reformat. It reaches 120fps no problem but the frame pacing is out of control.
All of my other games are fine.

edit: lol I fixed it, turns out rebar wasn't enabled. Of all the tweaks and optimisations I did to windows and hardware settings since I got this new 9800X3D/4090 system, I completely forgot about rebar. Turned it on and the problems have completely gone away. D'oh!
