Stalker 2

Nearing close to xmas holidays and the temptation to buy Stalker 2. Needing a CPU upgrade on AM4 which seems perfectly fine, upgrading from rx6600, not so. Annoying that this is a little demanding. £450+ to play one game, yeah but no. Did it once, game sucked
just buy a month of geforce now? and stream it https://play.geforcenow.com/

you still need to own the game on steam or another supported platform.

The game is not worth dropping £450 quid on tbh. It doesn't look amazing compared to how difficult it is to run.

Decided against playing it at all over xmas, going to wait now. I was hyped for it last winter, but the UE5 demands i can't be bothered with. Plenty of other games that i may try and sit down and smash. No cheeki breeki for me.

E: i have poor internet here too.

Had a good run around the lesser zone picking up artefacts, think I have seven now but all give radiation either weak or medium, still hoping one which reduces radiation will drop!

I've played the game for about 30 minutes but and my main gripe is the story. I've got no idea who I am, where I am, what i'm doing or why i'm doing it. I was expecting the game to start with some kind of story/scene setting/whatever. I can't say I love voice acting either, everyone sounds very generic somehow.

Changing the voices to Ukrainian with subtitles is much better. The weird regional British accents are really jarring.

I’m still not sure what’s going on and the voice acting is terrible, but my goodness it keeps me on edge most of the time.

I can't say I've managed to completely follow the story either, but I expect I will pick up more detail on future playthroughs which is often the way with me (films are another good example). On a couple of occasions, a few of the subtitles either disappeared quickly or barely registered before vanishing.

It's a crashing mess. Since the latest patch it crashes regulary. On it's initial release only one crash in 20 hours. I now have around 65 hours and loving it. It's by far my best game of 24. Just wish they would sort the crashing out. :/
