Stalker 2

No issues here after the recent patch, honestly

I have installed ultra + mod on Epic settings so maybe that's helping things.

The mod does some heavy lifting.

By default it seems the dynamic range is none existing, at least inside. After some messing around, it gets better.
I'm amazed what the developers considered to be "ok". It's really, really bad with most of the stuff (graphics and gameplay) by default.

What did you tweak? Contrast?

No, it should be the "Lumen diffuse Color Boost". I've set it to 4 or 5.
It boosts the diffuse lighting and local lights, such as lamps of all sorts.

I'm not sure if that what makes the changes real time or not, but I've also put the "Automatically Apply Configuration" to ON and with the game on Fullscreen Borderless and the Ultra + Manager on the second screen, I can see real time the changes to each setting + the performance hit. I wouldn't recommend just max everything, as it kills performance to silly levels - you get much better performance via path tracing in other games.

Mindbogglingly, they thought having dark rooms where you see nothing, but the NPCs see you it's ok. Or that NPCs can spot you via tall / dense vegetation and accurately open fire... and add more grass with the new update!

Anyway, I've added some other mods to sell broken guns, repair cheaply I think, find a lot more ammo on NPCs and stashes (plus valuable stuff, not just "nothingness"), modded the ballistics so they're more in line with the actual performance of such guns in real life (no more a pistol doing more damage than an assault rifle), reduce the life pool of monsters and NPCs from vanilla ridiculous levels, higher jumps and lower fall dmg plus longer sprints! :D
Overall, it moves the difficulty towards what matters > exploration and proper approach of a gun fight. The game changes a lot and feels a lot more fun to play than doing stupid management of an artificially scarce economy that normally would make the zone uninhabitable.

Some of that balancing stuff can be mitigated with a new game now as you can scale individual components to your preference. I started a new game so at least mutants go down with a reasonable amount of shots now, but I set the economy to abundant and have had to dump piles of stuff in random places so in hindsight I probably should have chosen the more balanced option lol.

I havent got round to playing the update myself but its looking good.
Cohh is loving it, hes a big fan of the series and like everyone was disappointed with launch.

What mods you all installing?

@Kelt have you given up waiting for RT yet?

Yeh, playing it on and off, it's a lot better than when first released.

Installed the 'sell broken junk' mod, and will install the enhanced blood mod to follow.

Not sure this will ever get the full HWRT treatment, settling for the inferior but better than nothing SW solution.

I've started a new campaign, which I intend to play a bit more of to get a feel for the changes implemented by GSC,
before throwing in mods to the mix.

the graphics look a lot better. sounds has improvements the lighting is still crap and the game play is a little better but wait for it still endless patching

So, been keeping an eye on this thread for ages now and it's not apparent whether the game is any good as all everyone is talking about is graphics. Is it worth playing with the new patches?

I gave up half way through, it's a bit of a slog crossing the world endlessly on foot fighting the same handful of enemies.
