STALKER: Call of Pripyat

Are there any mods out there yet that make the game look any 'better' yet? I know there are some in development but I'm finding most of the game to be pretty damn ugly, I know thats just how Stalker is meant to look but still, wouldn't hurt if it had a polish up.

Its not been out that long... even in Russia. I think you need a bit more patience... especially when it comes to graphics mods, if they aren't done well whats the point.
 
Anybody getting crashes and no audio with hardware audio selected.? It seems to take an age to load or escape out of the game to get back to the menus.....

Is this normal?

I never said I had to have them right now, I was just enquiring if there were any. Don't get the wrong end of the stick.

Atmosfear for sky textures/view distance/blowout testures/weather effects.

and this

is from clear sky but works in Cop for terrain textures. I use it and it's good.

he also made this for some surface textures in CS, but I've not tested this personally if it works in CoP so this one might not work.

I was getting all sorts of bugs with hardware audio which I fixed by downloading the latest OpenAL driver and then deleting one of game files. I am at work so I can't check which file it was.

Many thanks, made a noticeable improvement, I'm sure its giving me a few more fps as well.
 
I tied Atmosfear but found that it didn't look that much better (or I didn;t look good enough)

I found that the whole world was much brighter and as such looked worse so I uninstalled Atmosfear.
 
I still haven't got this yet, going through S.O.C. again first. Getting a boxed copy.

What is the difficulty like compared to S.O.C. in this game? It hasn't been dumbed down has it? I play on Stalker difficulty and that is challenging enough most times.

the choper is the end of the game sort of.

If you get on you get the end credits but there is also an autosave just before you get on.


If you say no you can freeplay and find new stuff. but just go to one of the guides and they can lead you out of the zone at any time to get the end credits.


tbh leave on the chopper see your end video then reload the auto save and don't get on the chopper.

put it up to ventran tbh.


The increased amounts of money you make means that weapon upgrades are easy compared to CS so it's a little easier to kill stuff than SoC


Also as you're pretty much neutral with most of the factions there's nop constant attacks when going through areas with respawning humans.
 
Started playing last night after finishing Bioshock 2, and i am totally underwhelmed by the graphics.

I have slapped everything up but the game looks dull and a lot worse than Clear sky.

I am running Win7 64Bit with a Q9650, 4gb Corsair Dom, 15k SCSI disks, and a Black Pearl 8800 Ultra. With all the latest drivers.

Any ideas?
