Star Swarm - Oxide bench thread

I think if you run the test, you will see there is big differences between them and at the same settings, so results would be all over the place and no consistancy. I enjoy a good bench but need some consistancy for it to be valid.

My mistake, I thought this would be a good bench thread to give it some but at present, the GPU usage is so low, it doesn't give any consistancy.
 
Well, I'm calling BS on this bench.

GPU utilisation is around 30%, my scores line up with both sides of the fence so presume both AMD and NV are getting poor usage on the DX bench. CPU usage is sitting around 40% too.

Whats the odds that when mantle is released it magically hits 99% GPU usage showing huge gains in the process? :rolleyes:

That is almost certainly going to happen.
 
You guys know that you can fix everyting in that test right?:D

Both Scenarios and Settings have CUSTOM preset .csv and .ini file so you can fix one preset and share among each other for the EXACT SAME test which is also consistent!

Let me propose this for a fixed PRESET that is consistent: Extreme Settings is a given. No need to change that.

But lets try to figure out how to customize the "Customized Scenario" into something repetitive.

Starting with no unit changes, camera getting stuck @ only one unit the whole time.

Second may be the FIXING camera movement and angle RANDOMNESS.

EDIT: I think I managed to fix random jump between units, now it is fixed on one unit for the whole test run. Therefore the biggest reason for FPS variance is kinda fixed and ppl should get similar results from consecutive runs. However camera still randomly moves
No FPS jumping arounf for different runs!

EDIT #2: I managed to get the camera fixed ALTOGETHER guys :D

NOTE: Skip the custom preset on my next post I changed that already!

GUYS I think I'm on the right track!

So What I did is: The camera doesn't change to any unit but stay at the exact same unit during whole run, the camere MAY be still random (2 runs matche camera movement but help my find if it is yrue) but I think I'm close to figuring that one out too!!

Yeah not canned BUT you can still get randomness out of the equation. AI can't be played with, but the rest is, and it can be fixed.

I believe randomness can be coped with following three lines in the script. These are changed values, it had 999999 in some of them to generate randomness. Some being fixed can help, still left one randomness 999999 value in there since it changed nothing (I think).
