Star Trek Beyond

6/10 for me. Was decent but preferred the first two. Didn't explain enough about the main villain and everything surrounding him.

5/10, average film imo. I don't know why but I just thought it was a bit boring. The whole plot just seem to start instantly and 'happen' without any real reason or explanation.

Apart from Simon Pegg it was fine.

I can't stand him and his accent.

But he did write a better script then the last two so I'll give him that.

What is the story then? I just wish they would do a proper borg movie.

Yes, OMG yes, the Borg totally deserve a movie... They Threw them in TNG & Voyager with a lot unsaid... They explained the borg in a comic book or something I think, but give them justice on TV...Netflix Nabs Exclusive Global Streaming Rights to Star Trek (almost the globe) I added the last part, in the us you need the CBS app... Don't they know what exclusive means? Maybe that will explore the borg...

Yup gave it a 6/10. Just a bit too average (i.e. 5 being average).

Voyager killed the Borg. In the Early the next gen days the borg were feared, if you came across a cube you either ran or you were in deep dudu. Towards the end they lost all the fear.

If they can reboot and re-image the main ship & characters.. I think giving Greiger-esque and poop-your-pants qualities to the Borg is another matter.

They're logical.. not frightening, the only fear as assimilation. If they showed families being sorted according to usefulness and killing off the useless.. people will react differently..

Enjoyed it, I would say it is in my opinion the only 'good' Star Trek film since the original cast made Star Trek 6? (Back in the early 90's).

I enjoyed the reboot, and they had a phenomenal cast but they always felt like action films in the Star Trek universe.

I thought the movie was below par. All sizzle and no steak. The big identification reveal came out of nowhere. And the Chekov whisky scene should have been the stinger.

I think First Contact is a good movie tbf. Patrick Stewart can elevate anything though.

Late to the party due to holidays but caught this on saturday.

Thouroughly enjoyed this film, 7.5 out of 10 for me. Not as strong as the other two but still damn good and better than a lot of other stuff around right now.

6 out of 10 from me. The last one with cumberworth (or whatever his name is lol!) set the bar quite high. I just felt as if this one wasn't as 'epic' as the previous two.

While the film/plot was ok, and at times it almost seemed like it was trying for classic Trek, it just seemed a bit average. The antagonists motive was forgettable and pretty much the same as in the previous film. No, not him, the guy who set him up.
The pin alien landscape looked good in trailers, seemed interesting, but then the film gives area of pink rocks, area of yellow rocks, area of blue rocks. Umm, fine, weird and alien, and not earth. But it's the same, just with different colour rocks.
I wanted to enjoy it, but it was quite a way from great. It certainly wasn't bad, it was entertaining, but if the new series carries on from brilliant first film, enjoyable second, meh third, I'm wary of how a fourth would be. I'll still buy it when it comes out, because it's Star Trek, but I hope they go for substance over style nex time.

I understand this point, I believe peg wrote it with the intention of classic star trek, had the creator who clearly loves the subject made the film, perhaps it would have actually been classic star trek. That said As with the previous films I found it good (mostly on the basis of incredible casting and acting) but flawed.
