US: Star Trek: Discovery

Series 3 Episode 9

It was going so well then some idiot writer decided to bring it down into the dark depths of:
The Empress in her Empire

and just basically trashed it :(

Such a shame.

I'm sure the actors enjoyed dressing up in the outfits but it is now crap.

You waited ten years to post this, so it must be important.

Also, what are you on about? :)
ED: Oh, Discovery... The thread for it is right below this one.
Pretty sure a lot of people thought it was crap way before this episode tbh.

Awesome episode! These are the ST episodes i used to enjoy, time travel, mirror universes, Q like beings.

SMG was really good this week and only a few dramatic whispers, frick, even Georgiou did a little of acting this episode.

More like this please.

Best bit is Tilly kicking Burnham in the face.

Load of non startrek garbage. It's more like buck Rogers in that episode.

The mirror universe has been milked to death now. A real shame.

As other said the cast probably enjoyed being able to drink shots and wear leather....to 20th century dance music...in the same set that everything is in....

Yep, we now have a full on camp universe I was half expecting Rick n Morty to pop up halfway through that one...

It's like flash Gordon meets bucks Rodgers and 2% actual sci-fi

I dont know if i have been watching the same series as some of you.
S1, not great not at all but S1 of TNG was worse imho and as for voyager...
S2, lot better, held up by Pike but still not superb.
S3, so far a lot better. This last episode was great, back to the mirror universe and references to the Kelvin one as well.

Disco started bad, has become better and while its not yet anywhere near TNG post s3 its getting better.
You have to remember this show was always about Burnham, it was always the first series where the Captain was not the central show character.

Its getting better, i dont want to see it off the air because a bunch of fanwanks cant get over its flaws like Stargate Universe did.

Several seasons of Voyager where Seven was in fact the main character say 'hi' - don't believe me, then remember that the only way Chakotay (the God damned first officer) could get into some of those stories was as a holodeck character Seven used to explore dating.

Bits of it are better. Doug Jones has stepped up as a lead actor because SMG hasn't/can't/won't. They figured out how to write Stamets so now Anthony Rapp can shine. Wilson Cruz (Culber) is good, Mary Wiseman (Tilly) is good, Blu Del Barrio (Tal) is good. The bridge bunnies are slowly getting more to do. Some of the guest casting has been alright.

And yet...

Plot twists are still handled with the delicate touch of a Klingon boarding party. !Georgiou is still a complete waste of Michelle Yeoh. SMG is still resolutely awful, Burnham still a Mary Sue of the worst kind. Dialogue is still making trips to The Bad Place™ with alarming regularity.

And there's not even nearly enough of Grudge the cat.

I have to agree 100% (and I don't even like cats)
