Not sure if they were in place yet, but for Champiosn Cryptic introduced proxy servers that solved everyones problem. The beta was pretty laggy at times though, this should be better for release.

It will be the same server. Post on the official forums. Not 100% on that, but I know Cryptic work on it a lot, so you can only assume it is close to them.

About 150-200 for me. Fine for an MMO, rubbish for a FPS

The lag shouldn't be to bad for a US server.

Got a 7mb connection so it should be alright, but we'll see.

Yes, but they are called "fleets" in this.

Aye i was getting about the same ping as CaptainRAVE in Champions Online so i don't imagine it'll be much different for this game. I don't remember really having any lag in that game other than in one zone.

The non-premium keys at tentonhammer.com are gone now, but if you're a premium member there you can still get one here, you probably aren't but thought I'd mention just in case. As for other key giveaways I'm not aware of any - the only sure way to get one is to pre-order the game from an official STO partner listed on their website.

Either preorder the game from somewhere still offering access or wait for another gaming site to give some out. Preordered from HMV yesterday after they confirmed id have the code in a couple of days.

Hope we get an euro server, other wise maintenance is going to be fun as it will be done when it suits the american polayerbase and not europe also
