Star Trek: Picard

The corpse of James T Kirk
Starfleet officer James Tiberius Kirk [SC 937-0176 CEC] was Captain of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 during its historic five-year mission of exploration in 2264-2269. By 2270 Kirk earned an impressive list of commendations from Starfleet, including the Palm Leaf of the Axanar Peace Mission, the Grankite Order of Tactics (Class of Excellence), and the Preantares Ribbon of Commendation (Classes First and Second), and the Blass Award for Space Exploration. Kirk's awards for valor included the Medal of Honor, the Silver Palm with Cluster, the Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry, and the Kragite Order of Heroism. Captain Kirk was critically injured while assisting Captain Jean-Luc Picard during a mission on Veridian III. His body was retrieved for Project Phoenix.

Hmmm very interesting...

Could be red wormhole?

Vadic fill it with liquid to bring human Picard back to life and turn him into Changeling leader as villan for second time since Locutus of Borg to destroy Starfleet and kill Jack?

Admiral Jean Luc Picard

To build Federation's first largest starship...
timeship prototype USS Phoenix constructed in 2395?
Use USS Phoenix to travel back in time to prevent Kirk fall to death and bring Kirk to 25th century?
Starfleet collapsed, USS Phoenix to travel back in time to destroy planet Bajor and see blue and red wormholes merge to restore Starfleet? And cure Jack's Irumodic Syndrome?

I sense that people are digging around in their cupboards to find that old captain kirk outfit to wear while watching the next episode.

Wife - Want a beer while you watch that?
Hubby - Make it so.

It's already confirmed we'll see the Enterpise F as it's being retired and also apparently the D in some fashion. I think that's what is in Hanger Bay 12.

Agreed, I also think that's what's lurking in Hangar Bay 12, retrieved & restored saucer with the secondary hull of a retired vessel.

It'll also not be networked like the modern fleet.

I reckon they need Jack in order to somehow use the leftover Borg tech in Picard's remains, they will use them to disable the fleet on "Frontier Day" much in the same way the Borg did in early Season 2 & pick them off one by one. They are gonna need an older vessel that's not linked to the rest of the fleet to stop Vadic, cue them stealing the recently completed Enterprise D from bay 12. I would imagine there will be some line from Geordi that during the rebuild some of the systems like the weapons & shields were updated & the final Episode will be at least partially on the Enterprise D, we know they have built the bridge set as Levar burton let slip that they spent a few days filming on it.

Have we seen F before? Is there anything of either in the trailers?

I only ever watched TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Discovery, Picard, all the Movies but don't recall it appearing, off the top of my head.

Ah seems thomas the cat who i knew from modding homeworld games back in early 2000s made the 3d model for the Ent F in the show picard then passed it to pic vfx team to make it work in the show.

I thought the Enterprise-E was repaired after that ramming maneuver in Nemesis?

She was.

But the Enterprise-F was in Star Trek: Online, and they're seemingly trying to canon-ify elements of the game by using those assets in Picard.

Quick snark:

Wasn't the whole 'this ship isn't networked therefore can survive' thing already done in Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica remake? ;)

Was I the only one thinking that they were about to take one of the older ships when they found how they were being tracked?

With the exception of the Defiant, none of them would make any sense. The bird of prey and d7 are all 100+ years old at this point along with the Enterprise A, slower and outgunned by modern ships, Voyager while being relatively new was mostly a science ship.

The bit with Seven and Jack Crusher bugged the **** out of me, he's rhyming off the names of the ships and she's looking on somehow impressed at his "expert knowledge", apparently not noticing you can see the friggin names of the ships on the hull.

They still might get another ship at some point with the hanger Geordie was talking about possibly containing something.

Even the Defiant may not necessarily be a great idea. As this version of the Defiant no longer has a Cloaking Device (canonically, there's some side technical manuals that references it having a new one by the Romulans, but this is not confirmed on screen), and thus is basically just a small, mobile and tough little target (for its time), but potentially will still get stuffed by the more advanced ships now in service. That Cloaking Device is really where the difference lies in, and I'm sure even if the Romulans loaned "another" Cloaking Device to the Defiant (Sau Paulo rename) after the end of the Dominion War, they likely would have pulled it too before it got mothballed at the museum. The only one with an actual Cloaking Device that wouldn't have been pulled by anyone would have been The Bounty (B'rel class).

Personally, if there was a Sovereign Class there (USS Sovereign or Enterprise-E), I'd have grabbed that. That was one of the few ships that were kitted out to take punishment and continue operating (and unloading a heavy barrage of weapons), and is going to be one of the faster ships available. That's something that could probably stroll through a few of those defending ships more easily. The Defiant weapons wise, likely could take those defending ships on, especially one on one, but when outnumbered, even the Defiant of old would have retreated. Especially now tech has advanced on (remember that the refit Lakota had weapons that could batter the Defiant potentially, ship wise due to it being a refit on an old model of servicing ship, it just wasn't quite up to it, but weapons was on par already, now many decades later the tech of standard ships likely will have caught up).
