Star Trek : Strange New Worlds

ST Canon : Lt. Uhura is intelligent, feisty and very attractive.

ST NW: Cadet Uhura is a short, dumpy and nervous.

Proof that the throbbers in charge of the ST universe CAN make SNW worse than STD.

Everything they touch turns to *** please fully star out swearing *** and they just don't care! It's just content. Everything ST since 2009 has been trash, it has made Nemesis look like a masterwork.

No attempt at anything with artistic merit, here's the checklist, here's the formula, here's the messaging - off you go.

Same goes for Star Wars. They even managed to make Boba Fett a supporting character in his own series, FFS.

Yeah that's part of the formula, sideline the male protaganist - same with The Witcher. Cavill ended up playing second fiddle to a bunch of boring fem carachters no-one gave a toss about. I can't wait for Mary-Sue Galadriel ROP, another great carachter totally ruined.

Thing is, Galadriel as she was in the lore is pretty much one of the most powerful characters in middle earth.
Giving her heavy armour and a sword might be the mistake, we'll see what thye do with her, but she can be magnificently powerful without resorting to human tropes of medieval power.

Didn't she cast power so much she torn the walls of Dul Guldur down with her bare hands after the dissolution of the ring? Damn, when something is that powerful giving it a sword and armour frankly weaken the character so dramatically. Gandalf sword and staff knocking seven shades of **** out of all around him, not even deploying words of power, and yet, he wasn't dressed in plate.
I'm really really hoping the trailer isn't reflective, Galadriel is boss level, and should be show as such, but not with human style armour.

I feel there has been input from those who know next to nothing or nothing at all of the Lore.

That trailer just has the same energy as Discovery, and that was dire.

I'm hoping they go for the 'problem of the week' like old trek rather than the modern take of a season long story which honestly hasn't worked.
