Star Wars Battlefront 2 - Now pay to Win

Which is why EA doesn't allow it, new games these days are like fizzy drinks and junk food i.e. you get quick fix from something that isn't all that good but you inevitably end up buying it again when there's a new version.

Certainly a model EA is trying to imitate :( a quick buzz and then looking for the next fix. Personally I still even mess about with Quake 2 even today heh due to its modding support, etc.

As I've been saying for a long time EA are scum that don't give a **** about anything other than profit.

Yet still people but their games and are shocked when they look for more ways to grab cash. just stop buying their games like other sensible people have.

As long as people continue to hand over their money they will keep doing the same. People never learn.

Looks the same as the shortcut packs that EA have had in their games for years now. Hell even BF:BC2 had them, even Burnout had them.

They drop the premium season pass model and you guys still want to rail on them?

How long before someone chimes in with the I wont pay more than £15 for it, I'll wait till its on a sale,

Developers cant do anything right these days, while EA aren't saints I think this is a little rich, Unless they star cards give you an aim bot and god mode then I don't see the problem.

I don't buy games from them at all, or Ubisoft. You can pretty much guarantee they will be garbage and overpriced. With lots of content removed and sold back to us separately.

The problem is the gaming industry was taken over by suits who are only after money. In the old days it was about the product and the art. Gamers don't make game any more, except for indie titles (which is where all the innovation is now).

Glad someone around here shares the opinion. Seems like the "Pay to win" tagline has addled everyone without even either watching the video, or thinking about how it may actually work.

But none of it needs to be there. The old Battlefront games didn't need it. It just dilutes the gameplay and removes the competitiveness, as well as the reward of actually being good at the game.

There's a lot of good devs out there who produce great games that don't need you to buy all the ****.

Darkest Dungeon, Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, Dota 2 are a few that instantly springs to mind but there a loads of examples of good games that don't force you down the purchase path. (Dota has skins but in no way mandatory)

I think probably the "biggest" publishers I pick up from are SI for Football Manager, CA for Total War (they can be a bit sketchy) and the publishers of EU/Cities Skylines (forget their name) who aren't too bad.
