**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

I've actually changed my opinion on this game to be honest.

The game looks excellent and as long as you don't think its battlefield (like I did with Hardline singleplayer) I think it will be a good stopgap till BF5.

Just need to find where I can pick it up cheapest.
 
This is just a pure dream on my part but I'm hoping they have actually included a actual single player campaign but they just haven't told anyone so :p
 
I watched some videos on the game last night.

Doesn't look bad. I've been an avid opponent of this game, due to the devs more than anything, but they have made a superb looking game, there is no denying that.
 
Cdkeys.com had it for £33 and you can get 5% discount from a Facebook like. Think this is the cheapest without going abroad to Mexico or Brazil.

The more gameplay videos I see, the more dull and boring the gameplay looks imo.

Wouldn't say dull and boring exactly, IMO its fun for mindlessly blasting stuff with minimal investment but it is a bit one dimensional gameplay.

I'm not buying it, just impressed how it looks graphically, wasn't really looking at the combat as it doesn't interest me.

You still getting a moody copy of it I take it

Hopefully not, its a pretty well optimised games so were see when it launches!

Precisely.... :p

It will be like hardline and titan fall, fun for a quick blast every now and then but short lived, although with it being "star wars", it could perhaps last a bit longer....

I watched xfactor's heroes gameplay advertisement video yesterday and it just didn't do anything for me.

It is without a doubt the best game ever for graphics and the sound is also superb. If all else, at least BF 5 should look pretty astonishing for about 10 minutes until all is reverted to low/off except mesh :D

Watched JFragz play some of this last night on the xbone. Looked like a pretty good laugh to be fair! Though m going to hold off as no doubt it will be £50+ for the super modern battle duty field front elite premium unlock highway edition :p


But laser pew pew pew!!!!
 
Quite disappointed in Jack's footage- made me imagine what a proper Battlefield game would be like if it were set in the SW universe.

Hardline made me want to slap myself in the face repeatedly while I actually quite enjoyed the Battlefront beta. (I am honestly stunned that game got beyond beta without someone either cancelling the project or going back to the drawing board).

What made me kind of feel sad though was that with relatively small tweaking it could have been the W:ET game for this generation but I just can't see it happening.
 
Hardline would have been a great infantry game imo, it had good map design (except that block house map where you could barely move....), fun game modes, quick movement etc. but the following completely ruined it:

- weapon balance especially the k10
- none of the good netcode changes from bf 4
- insta TTK

I liked the gadgets, little choice of weapons + unlocks (BF 4 and 3 are just stupid with the 10+ different weapons for each type with a ton of pointless unlocks)

For me it's the Hacker (commander) that ruins HL above all else.

Being able to expose all of the enemy team to your team and set traps for them, and make it take longer to cap points all adds up to imbalance IMO.

BF4 can be bad when there's only one commander and his team knows what the minimap is. In HL it's much worse.

I'm looking forward to SWBF though, it's going to be casual fragging fun. :)
