**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

EA, they charge obsene amounts for an average game, then shut the servers down shortly after. This game can't have long to live. This is why I don't buy EA.
Same as me then I refuse to buy any game which dies when they turn the servers off. Its a ridiculous business model if they do that the newer game should be a free upgrade IMO!

Wow I knew this game was shallow but after trying it for an hour I cannot believe how poor the gameplay is! Truly shocking waste of the SW licence. Looks reasonable but gameplay is aimed at the casual or very young audience.

Thought id check in on this thread, quite glad to see that its almost dead. ea grabbed everyones money and planning to grab more with the dlc to add content that should have been there in the first place.

The metacritic page for this "game" (bf1 graphics test) says it all really and the player numbers says even more. How long till ea turn the servers off?

Some really ignorant comments here. It's a great pick up and play shooter. Has fantastic multiplayer mechanics and whilst it's not as complex as something like battlefield 4 it's got enough to immerse yourself in compared to the cod series.

The phone companion game is also worth a look, a brilliant strategy game.

I agree. I put close to 100 hours into it before Christmas. Really enjoyed it. And will be going back to it soon enough.

If you take your gaming relatively seriously it is easy to peak in the game very quickly and then it gets boring.

You might not agree but loads of people bought it - like 90% of my friends list/people I know who are gamers IRL (around 2 dozen people or so) and after about 2 weeks from launch not a single one is still playing it which says a lot.

I can imagine that and that's ok, it was designed as a fun pick up and play shooter and in that respect they got it just right. If it were so bad then why is there fifty thousand playing it each day (across all the platforms).

I played BF4 recently and the team play was fantastic a real step up. I agree with the other poster too that BFront is more lone wolf (Like the COD series) that doesn't make it bad though, just different.

As someone who is terrible at FPS and 'twitch' games there is enough strategy in Battlefront to allow me to be competitive. I topped my team twice last night and that wasn't luck or the fast reactions of an ageing gamer.

Lol at the people here with no sense of quality. And basicly approves on EA doing this, strip down an existing franchise hype it up to the skies and get fans of the old franchise riled up and preordering... and sell it for near twice the price while having basicly 1/8th of the content Battlefront 2 had. For $60. Then an additional $30-60 for the rest of teh game.

~5 walker assault maps? Lul.

The game has no depth, no content to speak of and still $60.

It was only released to make money due to the Name and Movie release.
Theres going to be another Battlefront along the next film and the third.

Theres not going to be any more content or pilotable vehicles, that are actually on the ground rather than magical pickups you have a tiny chance to get.
We wont see more maps really. Or more planetary variety.

Heck, doubt we'll have the jedi/sith heroes with lightsabers rather than glowing batons.

Worth getting Battlefront on PC??

Not sure about it as apparently the servers are almost dead and people are struggling to get decent matches going. Has anyone got any experience of playing on PC??

Played it on my sons XBOX and really starting to get into it but would prefer the controls and load times of a PC.

Looking at http://swbstats.com/ there is only a peak of under 4000 which is a bit worrying.

I never have issues finding populated servers.
One thing to bare in mind is, it's a casual game and should played with that in mind. Good fun for the occasional blast every now and then but you're not going to get 100s of hours of enjoyment out of it.
