I was judging it by your screenshots, and I'm sorry but like he says jpeg compression doesnt account for those textures looking low res - its apparent just looking at the floor on the very first screenshot, even more so on the second. If you want to see high res textures then look at something like the cinematic mod for HL2.

For "high res" textures they are shockingly poor for 18 gb of space.

Maybe the pirated version you have is incomplete graphically
