Other news, rumours of special forces capturing northen based oil fields. Also airstrips that were used to launch a lot AA fire in the 1st war.

Been rumoured all day that SAS/Rangers captured H2. Not been confirmed by any one
 
I imagine they threw CNN out because yesterday when the strikes started their reporter Nic Robinson or Robertson gave out too much detail and was told to stop. He named buildings that had been hit and the Iraqis clearly werent happy.

Yeah lets kill lots and lots of the inhabitants of Bagdad. :rolleyes:

Mushroom clouds are just a by product of hot air rising and you can get them from a bonfire in your back garden. They dont mean a really large explosion occurred.

Personally, I don't think they will use MOAB on a city centre. Perhaps some industrial centres, or large troop concentrations, but I think they are mad (no matter how accurate it is) to use MOAB that close to civilians.

Considering a MOAB can only be dropped by a C130 Hercules a cargo carrying plane capable of 370mph. Do you really think they'll use one over Bagdad with all its AA weapons.

Turkey doesn't give a damn about the US and the UK, I can tell you that.

MOAB dropped on any city centre = war crime, the yanks know that, it would be political suicide if they would do this. It is as strong as a tactical nuke ffs, no way is it going to be dropped on a city. Last time 'round, the Daisy Cutter wasn't dropped on a city either.

Besides the MOAB's use in a civilian area being a war crime (effectively the whole city would be classed as civilain for this purpose, even if it was aimed at an army base in the city), the adverse publicity would undo everything the Americans and their allies have been trying to do.

In short it would be political suicide for it to be used against anything other than a purely military target (base miles from anywhere) and even the possibly dodgy, as the Americans etc are trying to make a point of only hitting military targets and even then giving them a chance to give up where possible
