State of Decay coming to PC(Steam)

I completed the main game and quite enjoyed it. Anyone tried the breakdown DLC? Seemed like it might be fun or totally repetitive...

I have still yet to find time to play it. I have both, What Im afraid of is all my people dieing if I cant play for a few days after starting. lol

I think after 24 hours the in-game time slows down to a halt, to prevent that from happening if you can't play for a while (although some may still die, as the game likes to do that)

Just took a punt on this game to tide me over until the next incoming big titles appear. I didn't do much research on it apart from skip through this thread and browse a few reviews (all positive ones) so I'm surprised to find it looks pretty guff visually. I'm running it maxed out on ultra settings using an R7850 MSI Twin Frozr 2Gb at 1920x1200. Is there any way to improve the textures and visuals? Cfg tweaks maybe?

Cheers for the links. Don't get me wrong, I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far and I'm only 20 mins or so in, should indeed live up to it's hype of a 'must play' title. :)

Just wished it looked a bit slicker, but hey...!!!......look's aren't everything! :D

I thought the same, but it makes up for it with gameplay :)

How do you 'Stealth kill' zombies while sneaking? What key is it and do you press and hold when near a zombie or just tap it?

This is the only problem with the game. You have to find out how to best play it by looking around and asking. The in game help/instruction is bad!

Some folk on various forums have said its the 'Z' key and I'm fairly sure I read an on-screen instruction that popped up which said that was the case. However if I press 'Z' when behind or near a Zombie all it results in is my character sort of 'shoving/pushing' the Zombie away from me. Doesn't matter if I press and hold or just tap it. Rather frustrating.

Also, noticed last night while playing that when crouch sneaking around and hiding in bushes, a lot of the time Zombies nearby will spot you anyway despite you apparently being in 'stealth mode'. The Zombies eyes light up in a bright neon colour and they start charging towards you. Am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch? I'm fairly sure I'm allegedly completely hidden in the bushes when this happens.

Don't actually know tbh. The zombies where never really a threat in the game I thought. I don't recall ever needing to hide, you can just run/drive through everything or fight.

The only time I died was on my first play through and I met one of the specials (the small jumpy one that mauls you) for the first time. Didn't really know what to expect and it killed me :(

Download the GR mod and put zeds on hard and then use the option to add a ton more, games gets silly hard then :)

I'd say it gets easier for your character, because you level up a lot faster taking out the zeds, what is hard though is that your outposts and safehouses will get overrun constantly when your away and you'll never build any communities. Sandbox mode is particularly rough, enjoy it being just you and the bird on the comms 24/7. :p

Folks, another question - How do you close doors behind you after entering a building? I keep reading guides online that suggest closing doors behind you for safety but there's never any mention of how to do it? I press the 'E' key to open a door, creep in and then turn round to face the door but if I try pressing 'E' again, the character justs says 'Hey, over here' or similar. Any ideas?

Ok, just tried it again and it is indeed the 'E' interact key which closes doors behind you but it's very 'hit and miss' in as much as if you are not lined up perfectly to the last millimetre your character won't close the door but instead will attract attention to himself vocally by saying the previous 'Pssst......hey....!!...over here' line. Not good when you are sneaking around trying to be quiet and not advertise your presence. Just one of the tiny little annoying things about this game, of which there seem to be a fair amount but my god.....it's still eminently playable, stupidly addictive and incredibly atmospheric. Loving it so far and wish I'd picked this up ages ago when it came out. :)

I found lifeline easy as well.
I think the fact it reversed lots of the game play elements from the base game made it easier.
I also found it odd that certain places didn't have the guns I was expecting and then I found a stack of grenade launchers and assault rifles in the back of a random truck, that made the siege missions a lot easier. 3 AI helpers with infinite ammo grenade launchers makes them simple.
