Blue or Rare.

1 Portion of Blue cheese mayonnaise.

1 Portion of Baby tomatoes still on the vine

1 Portion of French Fries.

Tall glass of iced coke.

im still waiting on the raw option on the poll since blue implies that theres a cooker involved.....

while i like to open a pack of steak and eat big chunks raw and i have ate full steaks like that.

cmon theres a option catering to very over cooked steak but no raw steak :(

the blue option is to well done tbh...

I like it cooked. I don't mind if there is a slight pink tinge to the middle, but I prefer it without. I don't like the thought of eating raw meat, plus the texture is disgusting.

So Medium-well done for me.

How on earth can it be technically illegal to serve a blue steak? plenty of other things are served under 65 degrees. 1 scoop of ice cream at 65 degrees please, warm sushi anyone?

I hope that post wasn't preceded by 111 other completely retarded comments.

Well I got my steak from the farmers market, bought a couple of nice 300g ribeyes.

Cooked one of them tonight...

The pan was nice and hot :p

And it was served with roasted new potatoes, tomatoes roasted with balsamic, onion rings (Tesco's, not homemade unfortunately) and tarragon butter - tastes like bearnaise sauce but less hassle to make

Cooked just right!
It actually looks more well done than it was in this picture.
Lots of pink but, as it was a good quality piece of meat, not dripping with blood.

whats in the butter?

Butter, chopped tarragon, diced shallots and a splash of tarragon vinegar.
Basically the ingredients of bearnaise without the egg yolks.

Just soften the butter, add the rest of the ingredients and mix together.
I put it in the freezer for a while before serving so I could cut the discs to put on the steak.

That does look good, over done for me, but I'd still no doubt enjoy that :)

I had a feeling you might say that :p
That part was actually the most well cooked. The butcher cut it on a slight diagonal and that bit was the thinnest.
The other side was actually a little under done for me, but it still tasted damn good!

Pretty unhealthy with everything that went with it, but good as an occasionaly treat :)

If anyone's in SW London and wants good meat then try here, where I bought this steak from: http://www.farmerscitymarket.com/
It's a shop that's open 7 days a week, but has all good quality foods sourced from local farms.

Hey it's fine being a bit unhealthy from time to time, looks well prepared too :) I had pork chops tonight - but I'm craving beef!! Tomorrow..... :D

The problem is in the UK, most places that offer a rare steak wll end up serving a well done-steak.

Yup, I always forget this when I go out. :/

Medium-rare for me every single time though.

Last night I ordered medium-rare and the sodding thing came back burnt round the edges. :(

whats blue? i liek mine brown all the way through

Hey that rhymes! :D

Google it - it's been explained on here already. It's about the same as the difference between rare and medium, but rarer than rare and is "blue" because of the purple colour of a decent piece of meat, if you see what I mean.

It's basically just sealed, but not enough to heat the inside of the meat too much.

I suppose all the people who eat their steaks bloody also do a Bear Grylls and eat their Salmon meat steaks by biting a chunk from its wriggling back. Would that count as blue?
I voted well done by the way. lol
