Steam and these poxy trading cards.

There not as good value as Diablo3 items were when I was making £30+ each weekend easily, but you can get a few quid out of them, generally I just buy CSGO skins with the money I earn from them

Did none of you collect stickers for albums as a kid? For me, it feeds that same urge.

If you have Steam, you play games.

This is just some fun which revolves around games.

Fine in my book.

Totally agree with the above post, I don't understand the hate for the cards at all. It's no different from a sticker album or any other collection.

It has turned Steam into something incredibly bloated and is just another way for them to make money. I wouldn't have such an issue if we didn't get these Steam levels shoved down our throats.

Silence Number 12 :p

I guess I will sell my spare globes and buy what I need, trade that way. shouldnt be hard :o

edit:
won the last globe, saves me the hassle.

I believe the answer to the question is no.

I can understand people not being bothered by the cards, though for a tiny bit of effort it is free money. However if seeing a green icon enrages you then I guess, I don't know, therapy?

Personally I like to collect the badges, and I don't care what people think of me for that. :)

there are skins with no mail box but no option in steam

alternatively sell them or give them to me :P

ive funded quite a games from these & a lot of them i giveaway to people on random servers for fun :)

Dude, sell them! Weird people pay money for them and u get steam wallet credit to put against your new game purchases!

you could try ticketing valve but i dont think itll work, the positive vibe around them must far outweigh the negatives but you never know.
its a shame you cant spare the time to sell them though, they all add up, sell nearly instantly if priced right and could be used to save a few quid off another steam game whenever youve accumulated enough

Put one on for 5p and it didn't sell.

Just utterly pointless and agree, I hate seeing the notification.

Semiskimmed is right, though. They generally sell very quickly. I've made upwards of £30 since they arrived on the platform. Goes nicely towards games.

The trick to getting rid of them immediately is to choose to sell the card, then check the end of the graph to see what the last one sold for. Undercut that by 2p or 3p, and it should sell within minutes.

So, you see on the graph the most recent is 13p. Type 0.11 into your price box, it should then have "Customer pays 0.13", and put it up. If you want it sold even more quickly, enter 0.10 instead (dropping 3p below the last sale). The vast majority of cards that you market like this will sell within minutes.

If they annoy you so much that you can't be bothered doing that, I'll take them off your hands. :D;)

They're not utterly pointless at all, because a lot of people get enjoyment out of them and they make a bit of extra cash for both Valve and the game the cards are for.

Maybe Valve should just add an option to turn off card notifications then everyone should be happy. Or an options to opt out of trading cards. It would then stop all the noobs coming along and selling cards for lower than they are worth so they can sell them in 1 millisecond.

I'm up to £1.50 this week by selling cards for average recent value :). Someone gets the card they want and I get a discount off a cheap sale game.

My understanding was that the price on the graph is the price the last one sold for. If you have the customer pays price as 13p it is at the same price as the last sale rather than undercutting.

Or do I have this the wrong way round?
