Steam Summer sale - 19-30th June

Never played a Civ game. Hows CIV5? Worth a tenner? Anywhere near the Total War games?

Although they both fall under the same category of strategy, they differ quite a bit. It's basically real time (Total War) versus turn based (Civ). The latest X-Com game was made by the same devs, and both are excellent games.

But ffs, it's not even a daily deal currently! IF you're unsure, wait till it goes even cheaper!

Will do. Love total war games. But haven't played one since Medieval II. Time for a catch up.

I am seriously considering Walking Dead S2 and State of Decay.

Walking Dead S1 was worth the tenner it cost me, if this is more of the same I will enjoy it.

State of Decay has seen a lot of positive talk on these forums at least, and I like zombie themed stuff. Is it worth getting the DLC as well or meh?

State of Decay is worth a go for the price it's at. It's fun to explore, and has some good mechanics, i.e. alerting zombie hordes by making too much noise. It's an "dynamic open world" game, which sounds good in theory but can feel odd when things respawn. I didn't really like the interface either - not much effort has gone into mouse/keyboard as a port. But, it can be fun and has some nice stealth elements - it's worth a go for less than £5.

I was disappointed with Rome II. I did finish a campaign but Med II was better. You might want to check out some reviews first or their forum.

Is the DLC worth it or should I just get the main game?

Sharpy said that there was a Romero mod that made the game better too when I spoke with him about the game earlier on.

Start with the base game - the DLC is definitely expansion material.

I haven't tried the Romero mod, but it sounds like it transforms the game into a totally different experience. Try the base game first, then backup your saves before trying the mod.

Might go for Halo Spartan Assault, though I'm undecided atm. Haven't bought anything yet.

I recommend E.Y.E : Divine Cybermancy for those that love an fps with rpg mechanics. A ridiculous steal @ 69 pence!

So far for myself I've gotten hotline miami (£1.04) and papers pleae (£2.09), and I said there was nothing I wanted lol

So far picked up another copy of Torchlight II as a gift, I'm planning to engage in some multiplayer action with buddies.

Hoping that Strategy FPS will get voted as the next Community's Choice sale, I want me some cheap Insurgency, but if Co-op shooter gets voted I'll happily pick up Metal Slug 3 and possibly Killing Floor, always wanted to try it?

Still holding out hope that Spintires will pop up in the sale, I wants it :D

Ohhh, yes, insurgency! Its only 55% though!! I might wait until its 75% off (different sales obviously).

Come on everyone PLEASE vote for Payday 2 in the community choice...

On a side note assuming the 4-pack will be discounted by a similar margin if Payday 2 wins does anybody want to split it with me?

I don't think it's likely to come up cheaper than in a Community's Choice sale, as they usually have the same discount level as Flash sales, if I remember rightly.

Still, here's hoping! :D
